Saving Super Logan (And How You Can Help).

Logan (a.k.a. Super Logan!) is a 10 year-old friend of Fuchsia that needs our support. Logan has been experiencing kidney failure since June of 2012, when he went into septic shock and spent 6 1/2 months in the hospital. Despite all that this brave young man has been through, he’s just about the happiest little guy you’ll ever meet. Every day, he dons an eye patch, puts on his prosthetic leg, and (most importantly) wears a smile!

Recently, Logan was granted one wish from Make-A-Wish. Rather than asking for something only he could enjoy, he asked for a playground to be built in his neighborhood so he could share it with all his friends.

Logan has a difficult road ahead. He and his family are hoping for a kidney transplant later in the year. But a kidney transplant doesn’t last forever. On average, a new kidney is needed every 10 years. Once Logan has a healthy kidney, he is also likely to undergo further facial reconstructive surgery.

Here’s how you can help:

On Valentine’s Day (2/14) Fuchsia will be holding a fundraiser that will benefit Logan. For every Fuchsia gift card purchased that day, we will donate 15% to COTA* in honor of Logan. Come by the spa or buy a gift card online to help us raise money.

Logan’s story is viewable here.

*Logan and his family have asked for donations to be made directly to COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association) in Logan’s honor to help him and other children like him. COTA is a 501(c)3 organization that helps families with children in need of an organ or bone marrow transplant to raise funds for transplant-related expenses.
