Frequently Asked Questions

How do I need to prep for the treatment?

Simply arrive with your eyes make-up free and if you wear contacts please have them removed for your appointment.

Is a Lash Lift the same as an eyelash perm?

No, the Lash Lift is a new, improved procedure, overcoming the ‘over curled’ look of its predecessor. While the chemical procedure is identical to a perm, the difference is in the results. By ditching the old-fashioned perm rollers which curled back the lashes to the extent of the ‘dolly look’, the silicone rods used for this new procedure lifts the lash from the root in either a straight or curled, upwards fashion that produces length and a bright-eyed enhanced look.

What are the post treatment instructions?

Pretty simple: No heat, steam (including cooking over steaming stovetop), saunas, water, oils, lotions, creams, shampoos, face washes, makeup, makeup remover wipes or pads on lashes for a minimum of 24 hours.

Post Care Instructions (follow for 24 hours after treatment):
– Keep your lashes dry and free of makeup
– Do not use makeup remover wipes, pads or face wash
– Avoid any oil-based creams and lotions
– Avoid heat, steam and saunas

Is there any maintenance?

None at all! You don’t have to do anything special with your lashes in between lifts.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes. Lashes are lifted onto our specially shaped lifting rods before products are applied.

Will the Lash Lift damage my natural lashes?

No. Your lash procedure will be performed with the utmost care and proper technique. The product never touches the skin during the process. Redness around the eye may occur due to the product removal process (wiping the eyes with cotton rounds) but should disappear within a few minutes after the procedure.

Will I have a reaction to the lotion?

Very few people have a reaction to the lotion but that doesn’t mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why you can opt to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand. A patch test is quick and simple. It consists of us placing 2 drops of lotions behind the ear and then waiting for 15 minutes. After we wipe it off and wait to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hours such as redness, itching or inflammation for example.

Can I wear makeup after my lash lift?

Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.

Is it painful?

No, the procedure is totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment.

I use a lash growth enhancer. Can I get this treatment?

Yes. As a side note, because growth enhancers make lashes grow faster than normal the lash lift may need to be repeated earlier than those who do not use a growth enhancement.

I have downward-pointing lashes, will this be a good treatment for me?

Absolutely! Anyone with these types of pesky lashes will love the lash lift!

How long does the effect last?

Depending on the length and quality of your natural lashes, the lift can last for 6 to 8 weeks.

I have glaucoma, can I have this procedure?

Consult with your physician first.

I've recently had blepharoplasty surgery, can I have this procedure?

You need to wait at least 1 year from your surgery and it is best to consult with your physician before scheduling your lash lift.

I've recently had Lasik surgery, can I have this procedure?

Yes, but you need to wait at least 6 months and consult with your physician prior.
